The G01 is the best X3 yet, and BMW is working on a tuning offering for the X3 M. Customers are looking to combine the M3's power-handling abilities with the practicality of a sport utility vehicle.
And Alpina is doing much the same with the XD3, which boasts a trio of turbocharged and diesel engines. the B57 is the name of the game, and while the X3 xDrive 30d makes 265 PS and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque as stock, the XD3 is uprated from 3.0 liters to 388 PS and 770 Nm (567 lb-ft).
For UK customers, the Alpina-certified BMW X3 xDrive 30d is equipped with two turbochargers producing 333 PS and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque. Regardless of where the steering wheel is located, the XD3 comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-biased all-wheel drive.
On top of that, the Alpina is modified with a sports suspension, electronically adjustable dampers, a rear active differential and 20-inch wheels. Optional 22-inch lightweight forged wheels are also available.The XD3's exterior modifications are neither top nor bottom of the line, and the all-around aesthetics are mirrored by the interior, which looks and feels just right for the XD3.
