Ford Expands Charging Network And Increases The Number Of Super Charging Stations.

Ford has expanded its charging network and increased the number of superchargers.

Ford BlueOval

According to media reports, Ford is expanding its BlueOval charging network to provide more charging piles for electric vehicle owners.

Ford's BlueOval self-operated charging stations are very few. In order to simplify the difficulty of charging electric vehicles, Ford has integrated these third-party charging stations, and electric car owners only need to use mobile phone applications to use all charging piles in BlueOval.

However, all charging service providers in the market have not yet fully covered the BlueOval network, so when charging piles of other operators, Ford owners still need to download other applications or use credit cards or RFID cards for settlement.

In October this year, Ford reached a cooperation with Blink, Francis Energy and Red E in the United States and Canada to expand the BlueOval network by 25%, adding about 10,000 charging piles, including more than 500 DC fast charging piles. As of now, the total number of BlueOval charging piles has exceeded 106,000, including 11,800 Level 3 DC fast charging piles. By 2024, these two figures will increase significantly.

Bill Crider, senior director of Ford Global Charging and Energy Services, said: "The BlueOval charging network has always attached great importance to reliable charging and fast charging. With the addition of Tesla's Supercharger network and the launch of new fast charging piles at Ford Model e dealers in 2024, we are working hard to make the range anxiety of Ford electric vehicle drivers a thing of the past."

Ford will provide adapters for owners of 2024 models and older models, and Ford electric vehicles will also be able to use Tesla's charging network. After 2025, Ford electric vehicles will be directly equipped with the same NACS charging port as Tesla, and no adapter is required when using Tesla charging piles.
