Car Seat Maintenance Method

Jan 09, 2022

Most mid-range and high-end cars have leather seats. Many drivers install leather seats themselves, which are comfortable, luxurious and noble, and have a long service life. Leather is a natural thing, so it is naturally not to be taken lightly when maintaining it. Just wipe it dry with cotton paper towels after washing. In daily maintenance, in addition to avoiding sharp objects from scratching the leather, you should also pay attention to dust and sun protection. Because dust is pervasive, it will absorb the natural oils in the leather and turn it into dry skin. The scorching sun will age people's skin, and the same is true for leather seats. So for the maintenance of leather seats, do the following

Keep the car leather seat two feet away from the heat source as much as possible. Too close will cause the leather to crack;

Do not expose it to the sun for a long time to prevent the leather from fading, especially for friends who drive convertible sports cars, and do not damage the skin by exposing it to the sun for a while.

Clean and maintain regularly, and vacuum it once a week;

After cleaning, do not use a hair dryer to quickly dry the leather, but use a paper towel or soft towel to dry it to avoid scratching the leather. It can also be placed in a cool and ventilated place to dry naturally.

Do not use chemical cleaning agents for cleaning. Use less so-called leather protectors, which will make the leather dependent. If you stop using them, the leather will become dull.

Most mid- to high-end cars have leather seats, and chemical cleaning agents cannot be sprayed.

  ● Use strong alkaline cleaning agents, such as soapy water.
  ● Soak a clean soft towel in warm water, apply an appropriate amount of soap evenly on the towel, and then gently wipe the seat.
  ● Let it air dry after wiping the soap, and wipe it twice with a wet towel without soap after cleaning.
  ● Do not use a hair dryer to quickly dry the leather after cleaning. Use tissue paper or a soft towel to dry it to avoid scratching the leather. It can       also be placed in a cool and ventilated place to dry naturally.

The biggest enemy of leather is scissors, hard objects and high temperatures. Always be careful of sharp objects tearing the leather. To extend the service life, avoid sunlight, preferably not more than 60℃.
