Mercedes-benz has released official images and basic configuration information for the all-new 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which is expected to arrive in Australia in the first quarter of 2024.
In terms of appearance, the front face of the new Mercedes-Benz E-class uses a design language similar to that of the EQ family, but the chrome-plated center mesh edge and star emblem grille have been retained, which always have a feeling of unutterable. It is worth mentioning that the new car class still provides two versions of the front face styling style, which can meet the business travel and pursuit of sports style. The light group design uses the "peanut lamp" shape with a rather retro taste, and the new car will be equipped with Mercedes-Benz's latest digital intelligent headlights. It is worth mentioning that the details of the new car have been significantly adjusted, it is still a dot matrix structure, but the shape of each "point" has changed from "point" to a three-pointed star similar to the Mercedes-Benz LOGO, higher recognition, stronger design sense, and the appearance level has also been improved. At the same time, this change is also reflected in the relief decoration of the fog lamp area on both sides.
The design of the waist line of the car side adopts a similar asymptotic design, which gradually "disappears" in the B-pillar area, and has a sense of looming atmosphere. The vehicle drag coefficient is only 0.23Cd, and the hidden door handle further reduces the air resistance. In addition, the new AMG Line sports kit and the dense banner smoked black wheel have a good sense of sports.

A new generation of Mercedes-Benz E-class adopts a new taillight design, two large size triangular taillights are more eye-catching, but also connected together to form a penetrant structure, the light source inside the lamp chamber is designed into a three-pointed star shape similar to the Mercedes-Benz LOGO, and the Chinese net shape forms a response before and after. It remains to be seen whether this design element will appear on other Mercedes models.

In terms of interior, the interior layout of the new Mercedes-Benz E-class has also undergone major changes, with the original dual large screen being canceled and upgraded to a triple screen similar to the Mercedes-Benz EQS and Mercedes-Benz EQE, equipped with the MBUX Superscreen system, and a new selfie camera is added to facilitate users to participate in video conferencing. At the same time, the large screen of the new car also integrates a variety of popular web apps, such as the TikTok social media platform, the Angry Birds game, Webex and Zoom video conferencing, the Vivaldi Internet browser and Zynk, which allows the front passenger to watch TV shows and movies while on the road. The in-car camera can also monitor the driver's driving status to ensure driving safety. A new style of three-spoke steering wheel and ubiquitous ambient lights keep the luxury alive. It is worth mentioning that the new car canceled the classic propeller outlet of Mercedes-Benz, changed to the more common horizontal air conditioning outlet, which is to embed a larger size screen in the center console and make a compromise, objectively speaking, this design is not ugly, and horizontal design elements also make the cockpit appear wider, but the disappearance of classic elements is not necessarily a good thing.

In terms of size, the length of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class is 4949mm, the width is 1880mm, and the height is 1468mm, which increases by 26mm in length and 28mm in width compared with the current E-Class model. The height remains unchanged, and the wheelbase is 22mm longer than the current E-Class model to 2961mm. Rear seat legroom has increased by 17mm, knee space has increased by 10mm and trunk space is 540L. The overall size of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class is similar to the electric version of the EQE sedan, with the same length, but the width is 26mm narrower than the EQE sedan and the height is 37mm lower.
In terms of power, the new E-Class series will initially be available in Europe with a choice of four - and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, all equipped with a 48V light-mixing system, an integrated starter motor that delivers an additional 15kW and 200Nm of power during full acceleration, and coasting to save fuel when the engine is turned off.
The new E-Class entry in Europe will include a 2.0-litre turbocharged, 150kW four-cylinder petrol engine model (E200) and a 145kW turbocharged 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine model (E220d).
