Land Rover has launched a special edition of the Range Rover Sport - the Park City Edition, named after the city in Utah, USA, famous for its acclaimed ski resort. This new product is limited to only 7 units. In addition to being rare, first and foremost, it matches the Park City area's snowy mountains and comes with a flowing Frost Silver Satin paint finish. The Park City Edition further stands out with a Narvik Black roof and dark gray 23-inch SV Bespoke wheels with carbon fiber inserts.
Also standard are specific running boards, deployable side steps, SV Bespoke Duo Tone Ebony and Light Cloud Suedecloth headliner, Light Cloud and Ebony semi-aniline perforated leather seats and more Light for a luxurious interior Cloud/Ebony trim. The finishing touch is SV Bespoke satin-forged carbon fiber trim.
Land Rover's limited-edition Sport retails for $169,000 plus $1,475 destination charge, and besides its rarity, the question is, what makes the "Park City Edition" $50,800 more expensive than the Autobiography P550e? Except for the special-edition trims described above, it's powered by a plug-in hybrid six-cylinder engine instead of the more powerful mild-hybrid V8 from BMW. The plug-in setup offers up to 85 kilometers of zero-emission driving, 543 hp and 800 Nm of torque at full throttle. That's not bad for an electric turbo inline-six, but keep in mind that Land Rover's third-generation Range Rover Sport is quite heavy, with the Autobiography P550e tipping the scales at 2733kg.
Each customer receives two sets of custom skis from Hinterland, a Salt Lake City-based company that entered the custom ski business in 2009 under the name WSD. Includes Custom Accessories and Land Rover Accessories roof ski racks, as well as roof bars and a pair of Theragun massage units in the custom box. Finally, Jaguar Land Rover will make a donation to the Park City Community Foundation for each Park City Edition.
