Nov 24, 2023

Car headlights are lighting devices installed at the front of a car, mainly used to provide lighting and illuminate the road at night or in low light conditions. They usually consist of one or more bulbs and focus light onto the road ahead through a focusing lens. The design and function of car headlights can vary depending on the model, region and regulations.

Mostly use the following steps.

1. Clean the headlights

Use soapy water to wash the headlights to remove dirt and dust.

2. Sanding

Use sandpaper of varying thickness (such as 600, 1000 and 2000 mesh) to wash the lights from rough to fine to remove the oxide coating and scratches.

3. Polishing

Clean sand bulbs and polish them with plastic polish to restore the brightness and luster of the bulbs.

4. Use UV protection

Apply at least three layers of UV protection to prevent the bulbs from re-oxidizing.

5. Initial adjustment
- Apply a mixture of toothpaste and baking soda to the bulbs, then rinse with water.
- Use a mixture of baking soda and white vinegar, apply to the bulbs, leave for a few minutes and then clean.
- Spray the bulbs with Coke (which contains phosphoric acid to remove rust and stains), let it sit for a minute and then dry it with a microfiber cloth.
- After using dish soap, wash the car headlight with hot water and dish soap, then rinse with clean water.

6. Replace the bulb

If the headlight problem is caused by a defective bulb, a new bulb should be replaced. Make sure the new bulb is properly installed and secure in the vehicle.

7. Check the electrical connections

If the bulbs still do not light after replacing the bulb, check the electrical connections and fuses for damage or wear.

8. Adjust the bulbs

If the light angle of the bulb changes after replacing the bulb, you should check the light angle of the bulb to ensure that it does not shine to other drivers and ensure proper lighting.
