Installation process of star roof

1. Remove the roof;

2. Draw points;

3. Hole piercing (1.0mm special piercer);

Step 1: Remove the roof

Remove the inner roof of the car. The roof is fixed by buckles and screws. Be careful when removing it. (Remove the A, B, C pillar trim panels, door side seals, remove the left and right sun visors, reading lights, co-pilot and rear seat ceiling handles.)

Step Two: Draw Points

Tool: big pen;

Use a large-tip pen to draw dots evenly, because the holes are very thin, the ceiling and the optical fiber are white, if you can’t find the holes, if you don’t draw dots, you will miss some places where the optical fiber is not inserted. So drawing is essential.

The third step: piercing (1.0mm special piercer)

Tools: 1.0mm special puncher;

Use a 1.0mm needle special puncher to pierce holes on the ceiling, and pierce a hole at each point.

If you want to make some shapes, such as the moon, stars, etc., you can paste pattern paper behind the ceiling and then follow the outline of the pattern to insert optical fibers.

Step 4: Place the light source head in the empty space

First of all, place the light source head on the place where there is space on the ceiling (avoid supporting it to the ceiling, it cannot be installed), and fix it with transparent glue.

Some cars are also placed at the C-pillar, and the space for each car is different, depending on the car.

Step 5: Insert the optical fiber and organize the optical fiber

Tools: cable ties;

Divide the optical fiber into several bundles, shunt the optical fiber to avoid messy knotting of the optical fiber, and then insert the optical fiber one by one from near to far (cut the optical fiber obliquely to 45 degrees to facilitate the insertion of the optical fiber), and pull the optical fiber to an appropriate length.

After the optical fiber is inserted, arrange the optical fiber on the back to avoid chaos. Only after all the optical fiber is arranged can the glue be glued.

Step 6: Fix the optical fiber (environmentally friendly silicone glue)

Tools: 3150 environmentally friendly silicone glue;

The edge inserted into the fiber hole is fixed with 3150 environmentally friendly silicone glue (remember not to use hot-melt glue, 502 and other quick-adhesive glue, which will fuse the fiber), and do not bend the fiber when applying glue, let it drip glue vertically.

Step 7: Paste the soundproof cotton

Tools: sound insulation cotton, nailing machine;

Paste sound-proof cotton to isolate the optical fiber from the iron sheet on the ceiling, and use a nailing machine to punch around the sound-proof cotton (be careful not to hit the optical fiber, or it will be interrupted) to protect the optical fiber and prolong the life of the optical fiber. (It is not recommended to install the skylight position)

Step 8: Connect 12V power supply to see if it can light up

Tool: 12V power supply;

First connect the 12V power supply outside the car to see if the effect can be turned on.

Special reminder: the fiber optic machine is 12V voltage, do not connect to the 220V voltage to test the machine, it will burn the machine.

Step 9: Cut the optical fiber (cut to about 10cm from the ceiling)

Tools: scissors;

Cut the optical fiber in the ceiling to about 10cm from the ceiling.

Step 10: Cut the Roof Fiber

Tools: special oblique shears, special fiber optic sleeve;

Finally, use our special oblique cutters and special optical fiber sleeves to cover each optical fiber with an optical fiber sleeve, and then use the oblique cutters to cut the optical fibers to the roof of the car.

(Note: Special attention should be paid to cutting the optical fiber to avoid cutting the cloth on the ceiling)
